FACILITY
Goals and Objectives
Just as water conforms to the shape of the vessel into which it is poured, your ministry will conform to what your facility allows.
- One guarantee we will make is your ministry will exercise your new facility. The only question is when? What we mean by exercising the facility is finding a place for everything and understanding how each ministry will use the facility. The earlier any short comings in the design are identified, the lower the cost of implementing the solutions.
- It is important for everyone over all the different areas which will use the new facility to be involved in the planning process.
Considerations
- In any new design project there are endless possibilities. The more time and thought put into the design, the better your new facility can be.
- When a visitor drives up to your facility, do they know which entrance to use?
- When entering your facility, is it clear where the restrooms, nursery and sanctuary are?
- Is there an area for the choir to line up before they enter the choir loft?
- Where will the drum kit and other instruments be stored when they're not used during a service or event?
- Where will you plug all those Christmas lights in?
- Before service starts, will you have ushers or specific greeters welcoming people as they arrive? At which entrance will these people be located? Is there a possibility a visitor could enter the facility and not be greeted because of the facility layout?
Above are just a small hand full of the numerous questions which must be answered. The earlier these and others are answered in the design phase the better your facility will be.
