Goals and Objectives

In this day and age video projection systems in a church are no longer a luxury. We each live our lives in a very visual world.
  • The system should complement the architecture of the sanctuary.
  • The system should be a fixed installation and not portable.
  • The viewing angles to the screens should be natural, comfortable and unobstructed.
  • The projected images should be bright enough to view with the typical congregational and platform lighting turned on (and not dimmed).
Considerations
  • The projection system should provide an enhance ment to the worship service rather than a distraction.
  • There is rarely an excuse for any church in new construction to not use rear projection.
  • Projection screens only reflect or allow light to pass through. They do not produce light.
  • Direct and Reflected sounds can be beneficial or detrimental to good intelligibility, depending on their arrival time and amplitude.
  • ANSI Lumens alone will not tell you how bright the image will be on a screen.
  • In projection there is no subsititution for ANSI Lumens. The higher the ANSI Lumens the brighter the image on the screen.
  • When it comes to windows allowing natuaral light to fall on a projection screen - Remember, God always wins.
