Goals and Objectives
In this day and age video projection systems in a church are no longer a luxury. We each live our lives in a very visual world.
- The system should complement the architecture of the sanctuary.
- The system should be a fixed installation and not portable.
- The viewing angles to the screens should be natural, comfortable and unobstructed.
- The projected images should be bright enough to view with the typical congregational and platform lighting turned on (and not dimmed).
Considerations
- The projection system should provide an enhance ment to the worship service rather than a distraction.
- There is rarely an excuse for any church in new construction to not use rear projection.
- Projection screens only reflect or allow light to pass through. They do not produce light.
- Direct and Reflected sounds can be beneficial or detrimental to good intelligibility, depending on their arrival time and amplitude.
- ANSI Lumens alone will not tell you how bright the image will be on a screen.
- In projection there is no subsititution for ANSI Lumens. The higher the ANSI Lumens the brighter the image on the screen.
- When it comes to windows allowing natuaral light to fall on a projection screen - Remember, God always wins.
